Former President Donald Trump has finally admitted giving interviews to establishment media outlets is a waste of time after granting 22 interviews for 17 separate books.
“It seems to me that meeting with authors of the ridiculous number of books being written about my very successful Administration, or me, is a total waste of time,” Trump began in a press release.

“They write whatever they want to write anyway without sources, fact-checking, or asking whether or not an event is true or false. Frankly, so many stories are made-up, or pure fiction,” he explained. “These writers are often bad people who write whatever comes to their mind or fits their agenda.”
“It has nothing to do with facts or reality. So when reading the garbage that the Fake News Media puts out, please remember this and take everything with a “grain of salt” Trump concluded.
Trump’s comments come after Michael Bender from the Wall Street Journal apparently wrote in his new book, for which Trump granted a meeting, that Trump said Hitler “did a lot of good things.”

Breitbart editor-in-chief Alex Marlow, author of Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption, during an appearance on Newsmax TV on Thursday, wished Trump would stop “giving interviews to the establishment press that has tried to destroy him.”
“They’re trying to destroy him,” Marlow continued. “And that was really the original thesis of the book, and we went much deeper into the corporatized [media in the book].”
Axios reported June 21 that “Trump personally made all these decisions” regarding to whom he granted interviews, sometimes lending 90 minutes of his time to an interview or asking the journalists to stay and eat dinner at Mar-a-Lago with him.
The following journalists have reportedly interviewed Trump after writing uncouth words about him:

Michael Bender (Wall Street Journal)

Bender wrote a story on June 18 that made Trump look out of step with his son-in-law Jared Kushner in which he quoted a “confidante,” who relayed that Trump was angry with Kushner for leading him down the wrong path.

Maggie Haberman (New York Times)

Haberman has described Trump after the 2020 election as someone who “can’t handle the concept of the label ‘loser.’”

Jonathan Karl (ABC News)

Karl has attacked Trump for supposedly waging “an assault on truth” and accused Trump of dining “with Romney and Collins as he courts party loyalty in impeachment battle.”

Phil Rucker (Washington Post)

Rucker has written of Trump, “After inciting mob attack, Trump retreats in rage. Then, grudgingly, he admits his loss.”

Carol Leonnig (Washington Post)

Leonnig published an article in December about a petty dispute next-door neighbors of Mar-a-Lago have with Trump.

Susan Glasser (New Yorker)

Glasser attacked Trump for labeling the establishment media “fake news.” She wrote the label was “an act of shameless linguistic larceny.”

Peter Baker (New York Times)

Baker published a headline in February, when Trump was exonerated in his second impeachment trial, saying that it was “Not an Exoneration” but an “escape” of justice.

Jonathan Martin (New York Times)

Martin bashed Trump’s “presence” in the Republican Party on April 10, writing “A gathering of Republican leaders and top donors in Florida this weekend is less a reset of priorities and more a reminder of the tensions that Donald J. Trump instills in his party.”

Alex Burns (New York Times)

Burns took a shot at Trump in November, claiming the 2020 election had the “absence of a questionable outcome or any evidence of fraud,” while “President Trump managed to freeze the passage of power for most of a month.”

Ryan Lizza (Politico)

Lizza asked a gotcha question to Trump’s former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany: Did Trump think “it was a good thing that the South lost the Civil War.”
McEnany said the question was “absolutely absurd.”

Olivia Nuzzi (New York magazine)

Nuzzi was interviewed by Slate and spoke about “learning to report under Donald Trump, her regrets, and all the very dumb things she saw along the way.”

Jeremy Peters (New York Times)

Peters wrote a headline in October after Trump had coronavirus: “As Trump Recovers, He Retreats to a Conservative Media Safe Space.” Meanwhile, Trump has been one of the most accessible presidents to the establishment media.

Ari Fleischer (Fox News)

Fleischer reflected after the January 6 incident, that “at this point, I won’t defend him anymore.”
“I won’t defend him for stirring the pot that incited the mob. He’s on his own.”

Ramin Setoodeh (Variety)

Setoodeh penned that Rosie O’Donnell, Trump’s sworn enemy in Hollywood, warned “us about Donald Trump’s misogyny” and “his false swagger,” and “braggadocio.”

Michael Wolff (USA Today)

Wolff claimed Trump “does not read, does not listen. He is like a pinball, just shooting off the side.”

Trump has also given a few interviews to establishment media exiles, such as the Federalist’s Ben Weingarten and the New York Post’s Miranda Devine.

Trump Blasts Biden Administration For Return To Mask Mandates

Why do Democrats distrust the science? Don’t let this happen to our children or our Country.”

Former President Donald Trump attacked President Joe Biden for the CDC’s decision to require vaccinated people to wear masks in certain situations Tuesday.

The CDC updated its guidance Tuesday, reversing a decision earlier this summer that allowed vaccinated Americans to forgo masks both indoors and outdoors. The CDC credits the change to the ongoing spread of the Delta COVID variant despite vaccines still working against the strain.

“We won’t go back. We won’t mask our children,” Trump said in a statement. “Joe Biden and his Administration learned nothing from the last year. Brave Americans learned how to safely and responsibly live and fight back. Don’t surrender to COVID. Don’t go back! Why do Democrats distrust the science? Don’t let this happen to our children or our Country.”

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky specifically stated that the new guidance includes schools, arguing that students and teachers in K-12 schools should wear masks.

“This includes schools,” the CDC director said Tuesday. “CDC recommends that everyone in K-12 schools wear a mask indoors, including teachers, staff, students and visitors, regardless of vaccination status. Children should return to full-time, in-person learning in the fall with proper prevention strategies in place.”

President Biden had teased the CDC reverting its policy during a CNN town hall last week, saying it would likely be requiring masks for children “soon.”

“The CDC is going to say that what you should do is everyone under the age of 12 should probably be wearing masks in school. That’s probably what’s going to happen,” Biden said in response to an audience question. “Secondly, those over the age of 12 who are able to get vaccinated, if you’re vaccinated you shouldn’t wear a mask. If you aren’t vaccinated, you should be wearing a mask.”

Jan. 6 hearing: Ms. Cheney hints that Jim Jordan might be subpoena to testify

Ms Cheney said Mr Jordan could be subpoenaed to testify.

Representative Jim Jordan, a staunch ally to Donald Trump, has admitted he spoke to the former president on the day of the US Capitol riot – but he refused to say what the pair spoke about.

The congressman from Ohio admitted to the conversation when appearing on Fox News on Tuesday.

Host Brett Baier pressed Mr Jordan multiple times on whether he spoke to the president on 6 January during the deadly riots.

“I talked to the president. I never talk about what we talk about. I just don’t think that’s appropriate, just like I don’t talk about what happens in Republican conferences. So I talked to the president numerous times. I continue to talk to the president,” Mr Jordan first responded.

“No, no. I mean on January 6th, congressman?” Baier further pressed.

To this, Mr Jordan said: “Yes. I mean I’ve talked the president so many – I can’t remember all the days I have talked to him, but I have certainly talked to the president.”

The representative was then asked if he could speak at all to what Mr Trump was “thinking about that day,” and Mr Jordan avoided the question by instead criticising the Democrats.

“Bret, the people we need to come testify are the people who can testify to the fundamental questions. Why didn’t the United States Capitol – the people’s house – have an appropriate security posture on that day and what have we done? Those are the people we need to hear from. That’s the information and testimony we need to get. That’s what we should focus on,” he responded.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi commissioned a House committee to investigate what took place on 6 January at the US Capitol. Initially, the goal was for the committee to be bipartisan, but Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy refused to appoint any Republicans after Mr Jordan and Representative Jim Banks were denied spots.

There were two Republican representatives on the committee, though, after they were appointed by the House speaker: Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Representative Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.

Speaking about the House committee’s investigation on Tuesday, Ms Cheney said Mr Jordan could be subpoenaed to testify.

“I think that Congressman Jordan may well be a material witness,” she said on ABC’s Good Morning America. “He’s somebody who was involved in a number of meetings in the lead-up to what happened on January 6th, involved in planning for January 6th, certainly for the objections that day as he said publicly, so he may well be a material witness.”

“We will on this committee follow the facts wherever they go and get to the bottom of it and … we’ll do it in a nonpartisan way which is absolutely crucial for the future of the nation,” she added.

Mr Jordan has not yet been subpoenaed by the committee, and if he is it remains unknown if he would agree to testify.

Liz Cheney: Republicans Denying Trump Is Responsible for ‘Insurrection’ Are ‘Shameful’

Published

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Tuesday on CNN’s “The Lead” that she believed Republicans denying the severity of the January 6 Capitol riot and former President Donald Trump’s responsibility were “shameful.”
Anchor Jake Tapper said, “One of the things I find so troubling about all of this is you and Adam Kinzinger, and others are saying that they tried to steal the election, these MAGA forces tried to steal the election once, and they’re going to try again. And we don’t hear Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise and Elise Stefanik say, ‘no, no, no, we would never do that again.’ There is zero attempts at reassuring people that what you are suggesting is not true.”

Cheney said, “Look, in some ways, I think it’s actually even worse than that, Jake. I think that we’re in a situation where the people that you mentioned seem to view this as some sort of a partisan political game. And as every American who watched saw this morning, this is really deadly serious. This is a situation where the institution’s held, but it was a close-run thing. And as the chairman said, we didn’t have a peaceful transfer of power. We had an insurrection. We had an assault on the Capitol. Today you had members of Congress, Republican members of Congress actually protesting in front of the Justice Department on behalf of the people who were here and who had been arrested because they participated in the riot and in the insurrection. That’s a stunning and indefensible turn of events.”

Tapper said, “That was going on, on one end of Washington. On the other end on Capitol Hill, the strategy from House Republican leaders McCarthy, Scalise, Stefanik was to counter the committee hearing with their press conference where their basic message was Speaker Pelosi is to blame.”
After playing a video from the press conference, Tapper asked, “What’s your reaction when you hear them try to blame Pelosi for an insurrection incited and inspired and even directed in some ways by Donald Trump?”

Cheney said, “If I were saying the things that you just played, I’d be deeply ashamed of myself. What happened is absolutely clear. We had, as we heard this morning, just intolerable cruelty, a mob that was assembled by President Trump, was provoked by him. He lit the flame for what happened. We’ve seen that not just in the speech on the ellipse but throughout. What this committee needs to understand is exactly what the details were of the planning and the financing. But for anybody to be suggesting that somehow he wasn’t responsible, I think it’s shameful.”
She added, “I think Leader McCarthy is continuing to demonstrate that he views this as some sort of a political game. It’s not a game, and it’s deadly serious.”
Cheney concluded, “If we accept what happened on January 6th, if we accept what people, my colleagues are saying that we should somehow look at this as a bunch of tourists, they are trying to whitewash it, ignore it. If we go down that path, then we really are abandoning the rule of law, and we are abandoning what is one of the most fundamental elements of our republic, which is the peaceful transfer of power. I know that there are millions of people around this country who won’t let that happen, who will stand up and do what’s right and reaffirm our commitment to our constitution.”
