President Joe Biden’s scandal-plagued son Hunter Biden is reportedly now engaged as a “full-time artist” and is working with Soho art dealer Georges Bergès to hold an exhibition in New York in the coming months, with prices for Hunter’s artwork ranging from $75,000 to $500,000, according to Artnet.
Amid years of scandal, the 51-year-old Hunter Biden is apparently now “laying low” in his Los Angeles home while working on his artwork. Bergès, his dealer, plans to host a “private viewing for Biden in Los Angeles this fall, followed by an exhibition in New York.” Bergès told Artnet that prices for Hunter’s work will “range from $75,000 for works on paper to $500,000 for large-scale paintings.”

“I don’t paint from emotion or feeling, which I think are both very ephemeral,” Biden said of his work. “For me, painting is much more about kind of trying to bring forth what is, I think, the universal truth.”
According to the New York Post, Bergès has some ties to China. The art dealer reportedly “regularly features works by Chinese artists and told a Chinese network that he was keen to open other art galleries in Beijing and Shanghai in 2015.”
Bergès has lavished praise on China’s role in the art world. In 2014, Bergès told the Chinese state-owned media outlet China Daily, “The questions that I always had was how’s China changing the world in terms of art and culture.”

Hunter Biden’s newfound venture does little to distract from the ongoing concerns that he could perhaps be trading on his family name, as he and other members of the Biden family have been accused of doing in the past.
Hunter’s entry into the art world follows years of his endeavors in the world of international finance where he has been criticized for engaging in business ventures with countries at a time when his then-vice president father was negotiating U.S. foreign policy with those countries. One of the most well-known examples of this centers around Hunter’s involvement on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian oligarch-owned oil and gas company, which paid him tens of thousands of dollars per month despite his lack of experience in the energy sector or Ukraine in general. At the time, Hunter’s then-vice president father was the point-person negotiating U.S. policy with Ukraine. After leaving office, Joe Biden later bragged about how he threatened to withhold U.S. assistance to Ukraine unless Ukrainian officials fired a prosecutor who had launched a corruption investigation into the company that had hired Hunter.
Hunter also came under criticism for his lucrative business dealings with state-owned entities in China, as Breitbart News senior contributor and Secret Empires author Peter Schweizer has reported in detail.
“In China, [Hunter] travels with his father in December [2013] aboard Air Force Two. While his father is meeting with Chinese officials, Hunter Biden is doing we don’t know what. But the evidence becomes clear because ten days after they return to Washington, his small boutique investment firm, Rosemont Seneca, gets a $1 billion deal,” the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) president explained during a 2019 appearance with Sean Hannity.
“That’s $1 billion with a ‘B,’ later expanded to $1.5 billion. And that deal is with the Chinese government,” he explained. “It’s a deal that nobody else has in China. Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, nobody.”

Schweizer suspects Hunter’s latest venture could potentially be another form of pay-for-play for the Biden family.
“Hunter Biden was repeatedly hired and given deals by foreign entities that he was clearly not qualified for in the hopes of getting favors from his father,” Schweizer told Breitbart News. “It is not a stretch to believe that foreign entities will pay for or commission his works of art at inflated prices to do the same.”
Money laundering in the art world has been identified as an issue, as detailed

by a bipartisan Senate investigation last year:

The Senate report details how a pair of Russian oligarchs with ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly seized on the secrecy of the art industry to evade sanctions by making more than $18 million in high-value art purchases.
“This is just the tip of the iceberg,” investigators for the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations told reporters on a call. The art world is considered to be the largest legal unregulated industry in the United States, according to the Senate investigation.

The Rotenberg example and many other investigation details highlight the fact that, unlike selling stock or making routine bank transfers, art sales through auction houses are not subject to anti-money laundering provisions in the Bank Secrecy Act. When art is sold, according to the report, sellers are not required to confirm the identity of the buyer nor to make sure the artwork isn’t being used to launder dirty money.

“Secrecy, anonymity, and a lack of regulation create an environment ripe for laundering money and evading sanctions,” the Senate report found.
Meanwhile, Hunter Biden, explaining his art, told Artnet, “The universal truth is that everything is connected and that there’s something that goes far beyond what is our five senses and that connects us all.”
“The thing that really fascinates me is the connection between the macro and the micro, and how these patterns repeat themselves over and over,” he added, explaining that art is “not a tool that I use to be able to, in any way, cope.” Rather, Biden said it “comes from a much deeper place.”
Bergès has praised Hunter’s work, as it holds an “authenticity” that he “personally” loves.
“A lot of the issues that are thrown at Hunter is what makes him produce really great work,” the art dealer said.

Hunter Biden’s art dealer said he wanted to be the ‘lead guy in China’ in 2015

The art dealer representing the president’s son has longstanding ties to China and said in 2015 that he wanted to be the art world’s “lead guy in China.”

Georges Berges, who is representing Hunter Biden as he ventures into the art world, has talked about his business dealings in China in the past, but his reported ties could pose an ethics issue as he sells Biden’s art to anonymous buyers.

A representative for Berges previously told Fox News that the sales of Biden’s art will be kept “confidential.” The White House has said they have an ethics plan in place to ensure the president’s son doesn’t know who buyers are, though Hunter has raised eyebrows with plans to attend art shows where potential buyers will be in attendance.

Berges said in a 2015 interview with Resident that he wanted to be the art world’s leader in China.

“My plan is to be the lead guy in China; the lead collector and art dealer discovering and nurturing talent from that region,” Berges said. “I plan to find and discover and bring to the rest of the world those I consider China’s next generation of modern artists.”

He also said that that he believes “China’s economy is transforming the global economy and everything is changing because of a rising China,” and that he was fascinated by “cultural impact” China is “having on the world.”

“Cultural power is real power. That is the reason America continues to be the capital of the world, because of its influence on culture for generations and on an unrivaled global level,” Berges also said. “And I think more and more the Chinese are beginning to understand that cultural innovation will power their future cultural influence across continents.”

In a 2014 interview with Quest magazine, Berges noted that he travels to China “three or four times a year” and that, at the time, he had a “solid group of about 25 collectors, most of them overseas.”

Berges’ reported ties to China and the anonymity of the buyers could pose a potential ethics problem, especially with the younger Biden’s prodigal relationship with President Biden.

Anonymous buyers could have ties to the Chinese Communist Party and could attempt to buy influence in the Biden administration through the art purchases.

Berges has also been quoted in the Chinese state-run newspaper China Daily for his involvement in a philanthropy event with three Chinese artists, whose pieces Berges said “are not just pretty objects to create, but also challenge the locals’ perceptions of what China is and the institutions they live with.”

Additionally, in 1998, Berges was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and “terrorist threats,” which were later dismissed after 90 days in jail and 36 months probation.

Berges was also accused of defrauding an investor, Ingrid Arneberg, of half a million dollars and subsequently sued in 2016. Berges countersued Arneberg, settling the suit two years later.

Donald Trump: Hunter Biden’s ‘Art’ Sales ‘Disgraceful’ and a ‘100 Percent Bribe’

Donald Trump called out President Joe Biden for allowing his son to sell his art to anonymous buyers, calling it a “100 percent bribe.”

Trump raised questions about Hunter Biden’s skill as an artist and the questionable handling guidelines set to sell his art anonymously during a Turning Point Action event in Arizona on

“What about Hunter Biden getting a half a million dollars per painting, and he never painted before?” Trump asked. “Could you imagine if my kids did that?”

Hunter Biden’s paintings are priced between $75,000 and $500,000 apiece.

Hunter Biden’s “art” will “range from $75,000.00 for works on paper to $500,000.00 for large-scale paintings.” https://t.co/5x7SXUbjtI

Trump noted street artists in New York City’s Central Park could produce better art than Hunter Biden, just for $250.

“Hunter Biden’s getting $500,000,” Trump marveled. “It’s a bribe. It’s disgraceful, and the fake news media is talking about it like it’s okay, but we should have transparency. It’s unbelievable.”

The former president also ridiculed the guidelines surrounding the art sales, allowing Hunter Biden to meet potential buyers at an art show despite claiming the buyers would remain anonymous.

‘[N]ow they’re justifying it, ‘Well, we want to make it non-transparent.’ No, actually you should make it transparent, I guess,” he said.

Questions also surround Hunter Biden’s art dealer George Bergès, who maintains “strong ties to China” and was sued for fraud and breach of contract in 2016.

The White House has defended Hunter Biden’s procedure to keep purchasers of his art anonymous, refusing to provide transparency.

“We believe that Hunter Biden, just like any child of a president, should be able to pursue their professions and their passions,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said

to reporters during the daily briefing on Thursday.

Psaki insisted the system was “reasonable” and included “appropriate safeguards” to prevent corruption.

And to think: for just $363,000.00 more, they could have bought Hunter Biden’s “art”! https://t.co/hHEHDXqxxa

She said although Hunter Biden could meet with potential buyers at the art gallery show, he had agreed not to discuss art sales with anyone.

Political ethics experts have criticized the decision to keep the names of the art purchasers anonymous.

“Their solution of transparency is to actually hide who is engaged in the transaction. It’s ludicrous,” said Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) in an interview with Fox Business.

Hunter Biden Reportedly ponder on Starting Politics-Tied DC Consultancy Firm for Joe Biden After 2016

In one email, Hunter allegedly revealed he had organised a meeting between a colleague from Burisma’s board and his father when he still was the vice president.

Hunter Biden’s business dealing have repeatedly raised questions about possible conflicts of interest involving his father, Joe Biden during the latter’s tenure as vice president and now president. The Bidens themselves deny being involved in unethical schemes allowing the younger Biden to profit from the elder’s political clout.

Hunter Biden planned to establish a DC-based consultancy firm jointly with his brother Beau and father, Joe Biden, in 2014, a new portion of emails from a laptop that supposedly belonged to Hunter, obtained by the Daily Mail has shown. According to the emails, the firm was supposed to be launched in 2016, allowing Joe Biden to quit politics after eight years of the vice presidency, but the plans were thwarted by Beau’s death from cancer.

It is unclear from the emails if Joe Biden discussed using his extensive political ties for the benefit of this enterprise with Hunter. The president claimed in the past that he never discussed with Hunter his business affairs, but reports that have been surfacing over the past year have cast doubt on this statement.

In the alleged email exchange with his business partner, lawyer, and entrepreneur Jeff Cooper in November 2014, Hunter discussed the details of the planned endeavour, including ways to attract the firm’s first clients, Beau’s salary, and the composition of the firm’s board.

500K for Brother and Spot for Dad

Discussing the planned expenses, Hunter reportedly suggested that they might be as high as $1.2 million per year, with $500,000 reserved for his brother Beau. When Cooper inquired if the sum could somehow be trimmed, Hunter put the exorbitant salary down to his brother’s medical needs and that he had been offered a similar sum at another consultancy company, which he eventually joined, the emails show.

“My main concern is that he has at least that much income guaranteed for two years. We could probably go as low as 350 but there are some real costs associated with upcoming treatments not covered by insurance”, Hunter allegedly wrote.

The emails seemgly contained no information as to how much Hunter himself and his father would be making per year. Yet, he argued that for the endeavour to be successful both his father, Joe Biden, and Beau must be on the board, the report claims.

“In order to develop this as a platform for both JRBs I think it is imperative we (the three of us) have full control come 2016 when JRB1 comes on board”, Hunter allegedly wrote referring to his father, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr, and his brother, Joseph Robinette Biden III, by their initials.

Everlasting Source of Ethics Concerns

The latest revelations by the Daily Mail once again raise questions about whether Hunter Biden profited or tried to profit from his father’s political ties. Such questions were first raised when Hunter joined the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma for $50,000 per month. This happened when Joe Biden was vice president in the Obama administration and was deeply involved in Washington’s communication with the new Ukrainian government that had come to power via a western-back coup. The company later caught the attention of top Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin over suspicions of corruption, but the latter was removed from his post under pressure from the US and, purportedly, Joe Biden himself.

Joe Biden insisted that there was no conflicts of interest between him and his son and stressed that he had never discussed Hunter’s business affairs with him. However, emails obtained from a laptop, presumably forgotten by Hunter at a Delaware repair shop, suggested that at least on one occasion, the son might have used his father’s influential post. In one email, Hunter allegedly revealed he had organised a meeting between a colleague from Burisma’s board and his father when he still was the vice president. Biden and his staffers said they have no records or recollection of the meeting taking place.

Even more questions about possible conflicts of interest were raised when another email (this time from 2017) surfaced from Hunter’s purported laptop that seemed to suggest Joe Biden had an interest in a Chinese company, linked to China’s authorities, through his son. In an email exchange discussing the possibility of establishing a joint venture with Chinese partners, it was mentioned that Hunter would be holding 10% of the shares on behalf of “the big guy”. While the persona of the “big guy” was never explicitly revealed, some media outlets presumed that it might mean Joe Biden.
